Melissa L. Somers, MD, of Petoskey Ear, Nose and Throat Specialists in Petoskey and Gaylord, Michigan, received her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She went on to earn her medical degree at Chicago Medical School in North Chicago, Illinois and completed her residency in Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery, at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.
A board-certified otolaryngologist, Dr. Somers is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology and is fellowship-trained in allergy through the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy.
Dr. Somers is on staff at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital – Petoskey and Cheboygan campuses, as well as at Munson Charlevoix Area Hospital and Otsego Memorial Hospital. Dr. Somers has a particular interest in working with patients with allergies and those who suffer from chronic sinus issues. She enjoys working with patients of all ages. She also has a special interest in the treatment of laryngeal disorders.
